Course Description

Course Description "Wheel Thrown Altered Sculptural Shapes" refers to a technique in ceramics where a piece is initially shaped on the potter's wheel and then altered or manipulated to create unique, sculptural forms. After the initial throwing process, the clay is carefully modified by cutting, reshaping, or adding additional elements to transform the symmetrical wheel-thrown piece into an expressive, asymmetrical sculpture. This approach combines the precision of wheel throwing with the creativity of hand-building, resulting in distinctive, dynamic works of art that push the boundaries of traditional ceramics.
