Course Description
Start Date: September 13 2024 Finish Date: September 27 2024 Time: 6:00PM - 8:00 PM Instructor: Shahrzad Amin Embark on a creative journey with our Floral Mosaic Tile Workshop. Perfect for those who want to create a ceramic house number tile for their home or for those eager to explore the world of three-dimensional art.this course offers an introduction to sculpting with clay and using of the underglaze transfers. Note: If you are interested in using underglaze transfers, you can purchase your desired ones from our website in advance. https://www.beyondpottery.ca/category/all-products Join us for a unique and creative experience in our upcoming workshop series! Over three sessions, Shahrzad will guide you through the entire process of creating your very own 10x10" rounded mosaic tile. Workshop Schedule: Day 1: -Use colored slips to paint the background on your tile(s). -Learn to make decorative flowers and shapes out of clay. -The tiles and clay creations will then be fired. Day 2: -Glaze/underglaze transfer the pieces from the first session. -Create more decorative flowers and shapes if needed. -Use transparent glaze to cover the rounded tile. -The clay creations will then be fired again. Day 3: -Glaze/underglaze transfer the pieces from the second session. -Glaze glue all the pieces to the rounded tile. No prior experience is required – just a passion for creativity and a willingness to learn. This course includes everything you need to create your pieces. Instruction, equipment, clay, tools, paint, firing and glazing. Who is this class for? This workshop is intended for adults 18+. Younger? Reach out to us to ask about teen and children’s workshops. How long is the workshop? 2.00 Hours with clean up included. Is it your first time? We love to share our love of clay with you and everything we've learned through years of playing with clay. This course is a great introduction to Clay Sculpting. Hot Tips Jewellery might get in the way. Bring an apron or an old tshirt. Bring your inspiration. Pick Up Students work is usually fired throughout the course and can be collected during their class sessions. However works glazed on the last day of class can take 3-4 weeks to be processed in the kiln. In this case, students will be emailed when their pieces are ready for pick up!
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made in writing by email to info@beyondpottery.ca Cancellations will be subject to the following: -Cancellations within 14 days of the start date will be charged the full course fee. -Cancellations within 15-28 days of the start date will be charged 50% of the course fee. -If the participant fails to attend the course the full course fees are payable. Terms and Conditions -Courses are for Adults 18+ unless otherwise stated -All courses are non-refundable -We require at least two week advance notice to reschedule a course, regardless of the date of booking. -There are no partial refunds for missed classes.
