Wednesday evenings, once a week, 2.5hrs, 6 Week course Time: 6:30 - 8:30pm Instructor: Yvette Garcia-Mier Discover the Joy of Hand-Building Pottery Explore the art of hand-building pottery in our 6-week course! Not all pottery is made on the potter's wheel—this course focuses on creative techniques that use only your hands and simple tools. Guided by an experienced clay instructor, you'll learn foundational methods like pinching, coiling, and slab building to craft both functional and decorative pieces. Whether you're sparking a new hobby or simply trying something creative, this course offers a warm and supportive introduction to the world of clay. What’s Included: Expert instruction All necessary tools and equipment Clay, firing, and glazing Who Can Join? Complete beginners or those who have done pottery before, aged 18+. For younger participants, reach out to inquire about teen and children’s workshops. Course Details: Duration: 2 hours per session, over 6 weeks. What You’ll Create: At the start of the course, the instructor will share the project plan and 6-week schedule. Projects may evolve based on group preferences and progress. First Time Working with Clay? We’re excited to share our passion for pottery with you. This hands-on course is the perfect way to discover the magic of hand-building techniques. Hot Tips for a Great Session: Avoid wearing jewelry and long nails—they can get in the way Bring an apron or old t-shirt Come inspired and ready to create Pick-Up Information: Your pieces will typically be fired during the course. Finished works can be collected during sessions or 3-4 weeks after the course ends. We’ll notify you by email when your creations are ready for pick-up.
