Course Description
Start Date: (Every Wednesday) October 23, 30 2024 and November 6 20204 Finish Date: November 06 2024 Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm Instructor: Shahrzad Amin A mold opens up a multitude of possibilities for replicating sculptures, ceramics, and various objects, not only in terms of production but also for artistic experimentation. You can utilize the mold to produce as many replicas as desired and to experiment with various finishes and creative techniques. During three workshop sessions, participants will learn the process of creating a two-part plaster mold for a sphere and casting it using casting slip clay. Subsequently, students will apply their skills to transfer the casted sphere onto their chosen ceramic animal form, while explore both naturalism and abstraction in the animal figure. What’s included: Plaster, recycled clay, mold release, framing square and a ruler, a pencil, sculpting tools, bucket for mixing plaster, wooden boards for the casing, a cutting knife, spoon, a sponge, a towel, casting slip clay, plaster, and, most importantly, Foam balls. What you will need to bring: -N95 mask to protect yourself from breathing in plaster particles. Who is this class for? Artists, designers, craftsmen, illustrators, and individuals with a creative mind who wants to learn the mold-making technique to easily transform their ideas into ceramics. How long is the workshop? 2 Hours with clean up included. What do I make? Each individual will get a chance to make a two parts mold for a foam ball and transfer it to an animal figure Hot Tips: Jewellery might get in the way. Bring an apron or an old tshirt. Bring your inspiration. Individuals will be able to take home their mold at the end of the class!

Cancellations must be made in writing by email to info@beyondpottery.ca Cancellations will be subject to the following: -Cancellations within 14 days of the start date will be charged the full course fee. -Cancellations within 15-28 days of the start date will be charged 50% of the course fee. -If the participant fails to attend the course the full course fees are payable.
