Course Description
Our Mold Making and Casting course offers students the essential skills to produce ceramic works through mold making techniques. In this course students will learn how to make two different types of plaster molds; a sprig mold used to capture detailed textures and unique forms and a two part mold for creating vessels out of liquid clay. After students make their molds, they will have the opportunity to use their two part mold to cast a vessel out of liquid clay and their sprig mold to create details and decorations that can be applied to the surface of their piece. All works will be fired and students will be able to explore decorating their work with glazes and stains!
