Course Description

6-week Beginner Wheel Throwing Course is the perfect way to get your hands dirty and dive into the world of clay! Whether you're totally new or just want to try something different, this course will teach you the basics so you can turn a lump of clay into your own handmade pieces. Course Details: 🗓️ Start Date: January 20th until February 24 Tuesday Mornings, once a week, for 2 hours, over 6 weeks ⏰ Time: 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM 📍 Location: Beyond Pottery, Burlington, ON 👩‍🏫 Instructor: Lauren Sinett 👥 Suitable for: Complete beginners—no prior experience needed 🎨 Includes: Clay, tools, glazes, and kiln firings What You’ll Learn: ✔️ Everything you need to know about clay ✔️ Centering and shaping clay on the wheel ✔️ Creating basic forms like bowls and cylinders ✔️ Trimming and refining your pottery ✔️ Glazing and surface decorating techniques to add color and finish your pieces Who Can Join? This workshop is perfect for complete beginners, aged 16 and up. For younger participants, reach out to inquire about teen and children’s courses. Pro Tips for Success: ✨ Avoid wearing jewelry or having long nails—they can get in the way ✨ Bring an apron or an old t-shirt and a towel Pick-Up Information: Your pieces will typically be fired during the course. You can collect finished works during sessions or after the course ends. We’ll notify you by email when everything is ready. Cancellation Policy: -Cancellations must be made in writing by email to info@beyondpottery.ca -Full refunds will be given only to those who cancel 2 weeks prior to the course start date. If you cancel anytime after that, we can offer a single alternative course to equal or lesser value of the one you purchased. (Your enrollment is dependent on our course availability) -If the participant fails to attend the course the full course fees must be paid. There are no make up sessions or partial refunds for courses not attended. If you are going to miss a class, please talk to your instructor about booking a private lesson to make up your session.
