4-Week Beginner Wheel Throwing Mini Course Get your hands dirty and explore the world of clay in this fun and focused 4-week summer mini course! Designed for beginners or those looking to try something new, this course teaches the foundational techniques of wheel throwing—from centering and shaping to trimming, finishing and glazing. It's perfect for anyone curious about pottery but unable to commit to a full-length course during the Summer. By the end, you’ll have a few handmade ceramic pieces to take home and be proud of. Course Details: 🗓️ Start Date: July 2 until July 23 2025 Wednesday Evenings, once a week, for 2 hours, over 4 weeks ⏰ Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM 📍 Location: Beyond Pottery, Burlington, ON 👩‍🏫 Instructor: Shahrzad Amin 👥 Suitable for: Complete beginners—no prior experience needed 🎨 Includes: Clay, tools, glazes, and kiln firings What You’ll Learn: ✔️ Everything you need to know about clay ✔️ Centering and shaping clay on the wheel ✔️ Creating basic forms like bowls and cylinders ✔️ Trimming and refining your pottery ✔️ Glazing and surface decorating techniques to add color and finish your pieces Who Can Join? This workshop is perfect for complete beginners, aged 18 and up. For younger participants, reach out to inquire about teen and children’s courses. Pro Tips for Success: ✨ Avoid wearing jewelry or having long nails—they can get in the way ✨ Bring an apron or an old t-shirt and a towel Pick-Up Information: Your pieces will typically be fired during the course. You can collect finished works during sessions or after the course ends. We’ll notify you by email when everything is ready.
