Course Description
Workshop Description Light up your holidays with our Ceramic Luminary Workshop! In this cozy and creative session, you’ll learn handbuilding techniques to design and craft your very own Luminary. Whether you choose cut-out patterns like stars, snowflakes, or your own original design, your lantern will glow beautifully when lit with a candle or LED light inside. Each piece can be decorated with colored slips to add festive flair and personal style or we can dip into a glaze of your choice. Course Details: 🗓️ Date: November 13 2026 ⏰ Time: 6-8pm 📍 Location: Beyond Pottery, Burlington, ON 👩🏫 Instructor: Yvette Garcia-Mier 👥 Suitable for: Adults and teens (12+). Beginners are welcome, no previous clay experience required. 🎨 Includes: Clay, tools, templates, glazes, and kiln firings. What You’ll Learn: How to handbuild a ceramic lantern using slab-building techniques Creative cut-out and carving methods to design glowing patterns Decorating techniques to finish your lantern Pro Tips for Success: ✨ Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy (or bring an apron) ✨ Plan ahead—think of patterns you’d love to see glowing on your lantern Pick-Up Information: Your pieces will typically be fired within 2-3 weeks. We’ll notify you by email when your creations are ready for pick-up.
