Course Description

Join us at Beyond Pottery for a fun and creative Coral Sculpture Workshop. In this 3-hour workshop, you’ll create your own coral-inspired ceramic piece using the expressive pinch pot technique. Your finished coral can remain a stunning sculptural home décor piece, or you can design it to become a practical object such as a candle holder, incense holder, or small decorative vessel. Learn how to build strong, sculptural forms using the pinch pot technique. You’ll layer, stretch, and combine clay to create natural coral-like structures full of movement and depth. Explore carving, pattern making, and surface techniques to give your coral rich dimension and intricate detail. Bring your piece to life with vibrant ocean-inspired underglazes. Workshop Details: 🗓️ Date: April 24, 2026 ⏰ Time: 5:30pm- 8:30pm 📍 Location: Beyond Pottery, Burlington, ON 👩‍🏫 Instructor: Shahrzad Amin 👥 Suitable for: Adults and teens (15+). Beginners are welcome, no prior clay experience required. 🎨 Includes: Clay, tools, glazes, and kiln firings What You’ll Learn: - How to hand-build using the pinch technique . - Techniques on joining clay pieces together, - Decorative techniques: adding 3-D details , decorating techniques Pick up For workshops: Pieces usually take 2-3 weeks to become ceramic!
