Course Description

6-week Intermediate Wheel Throwing Course is the perfect way to refine your skills and take your pottery to the next level! Build on your foundation, learn new throwing techniques, and explore different surface decoration methods to add unique finishes to your work. Plus, gain fresh insights by learning from a different instructor, helping you develop greater precision, confidence, and creativity on the wheel. Course Details: 🗓️ Start Date: January 19 until March 2, 2026 Monday Evenings, once a week, for 2.5 hours, over 6 weeks Exclusion date: Monday Feb 16 (Family Day) ⏰ Time: 6pm until 8:30pm 📍 Location: Beyond Pottery, Burlington, ON 👩‍🏫 Instructor: Shahrzad Amin 👥 Suitable for: Potters who have done the basics 🎨 Includes: Clay, tools, glazes, and kiln firings What You’ll Learn: ✔️ Advanced centering and refining techniques ✔️ Throwing more complex forms like lidded jars, plates, and altered shapes ✔️ Trimming and refining for a professional finish ✔️ Exploring new surface decoration techniques, including carving, slip trailing, and texturing ✔️ Glazing techniques to enhance form and design Who Can Join? This course is designed for potters with basic wheel-throwing experience who want to refine their skills and explore more advanced techniques. Open to ages 18 and up. Pro Tips for Success: ✨ Avoid wearing jewelry or having long nails—they can get in the way ✨ Bring an apron or an old t-shirt and a towel Pick-Up Information: Your pieces will typically be fired during the course. You can collect finished works during sessions or after the course ends. We’ll notify you by email when everything is ready.


Cancellation Policy

-Cancellations must be made in writing by email to info@beyondpottery.ca -Full refunds will be given only to those who cancel 2 weeks prior to the course start date. If you cancel anytime after that, we can offer a single alternative course to equal or lesser value of the one you purchased. (Your enrollment is dependent on our course availability) -If the participant fails to attend the course the full course fees must be paid. There are no make up sessions or partial refunds for courses not attended. If you are going to miss a class, please talk to your instructor about booking a private make up lesson.
